The best time to Travel to Europe:
If you’re
planning a trip to Europe within the next year, the first thing you need to do is decide when to go. Do you want to go in the off season when weather might not be optimal but crowds at a minimum? Prices could be cheaper in the off season too.
Decide first where you would like to visit on your vacation
Once you know when you want to go, decide exactly where. Are you going to one country or several? How long will you spend in each one and what type of accommodations do you want? Do you want to stay in a hotel or rent a vacation home?
Choose your destination at least 6 months beforehand. Once that important task is completed, you should purchase
guide books or read as much as you can about your destination on the Internet.
What to learn about the country you are visiting:
- Make a list of sites and attractions you don't want to miss
- Pick up a language book and learn at least some phrases of the language in the country you are visiting. You’ll win lots of friends even if your pronunciation isn’t perfect!
- Practice currency exchange for the country you're visiting.
- Make a point of learning about local customs beforehand.
- Don’t forget your passport. You don’t want to wait until the last minute for that.
Start looking for airfare and accommodations. Choose your method of travel? Will you rent a car or take the train everywhere? Also check into travel insurance.
Just before you go, make sure you have everything you need, including any medications you take. Check to see what the weather forecast is before you go so you don’t pack unnecessary clothes. Remember to bring comfortable shoes and easy care clothes.
