Singapore is officially known as the Republic of Singapore and is one of the four Asian Tigers in the economic world. It is a Southeast Asian city, located 137km. north of the Equator.
Therefore, the weather in Singapore is equatorial, occasionally dry and humid and with sufficient rainfall. It is at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, separated from Malaysia by the Straits of Johor on the North. On the south it has the Riau Islands of Indonesia separating it from the Singapore Straits.
This beautiful island was inhabited in the early 2nd Century AD, and has since then undergone a lot of historic movements. It had a challenging colonial past and then gained independence in 1963. There are many interesting Singapore facts tourists get to discover during their Singapore
travel. For instance the national flower of Singapore is the Vanda Miss Joaquim. It is a natural hybrid between V. teres and V. hookeriana.
